Gallaghers Steakhouse 05.06.2018

To celebrate my mom’s lunar birthday and mothers day which is next week I made reservations at Gallaghers Steakhouse 2 months ago for today. My mom always wanted to go to a nice steakhouse so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. As a starter we were given complementary bread which came out warm and soft. Ordered some sparkling water as well.

For appetizers, my mom had the soup of the day clam chowder.

I had the burrata with wood fired peppers.

For entree we had both had dry aged filet mignon on the bone. My mom had hers medium well done and I had mine medium rare. For sides we shared sauteed mushrooms and asparagus. I have never seen such big sized asparagus before lol.

I ordered glass of Merlot for my mom and for me I ordered my favorite California Sauvignon Blanc. Perfect pairings ^^

The filet mignon were both cooked to perfect temperature, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Sauteed mushrooms were really good.

When making the reservations, I had requested for happy birthday special during dessert. We ordered some raspberry sorbet and creme brulee with orange vanilla tuille. The complimentary birthday cake was not too sweet with hint of raspberry flavor (I suspect it was a type of black forest cake but without the cherry or raspberry jelly filling) *^^*

The creme brulee and sorbet was also a perfect finish ^^ loved every moment of the meal. The only one thing I would do differently next time would be to skip the appetizers and maybe order only one side. But today being a special night I wanted to treat my mom to a full 3 course dinner which she never had.
