As a welcoming dinner for me and President Jun Tae Won of HHI Holdings (USA), the whole HHI team went to Prime and Beyond in Fort Lee, NJ. The story behind this restaurant is that it used to be a butcher shop but was turned into a restaurant as it made a lot of money. We got the Butcher’s Family Platter for Carnivores (assortment of wet and dry aged steak, hand-selected by the butcher, $90 per person, only available for a party of 4 or more). We started with appetizer of thick bacon and caprese salad with a complimentary bread that was served. Did not take pictures of these but the thick bacon was pretty good but preferred the thick bacon I had from Peter Luger’s. The assortment of steaks had basically all the meat they had in house (lamb chops, porterhouse (filet mignon and NY strip), and skirt steak. There were three plates of it as we are a group of thirteen. The meat was cooked to perfection of medium rare. It was really tender. I would say it is on par with Benjamin Steakhouse which I think is the best steak house beating Peter Luger’s and Wolfgang. I would consider coming back here with my boyfriend and family one day. They have BYOB so the President bought like 8-10 bottles of wine which we finished. Surprised that we did thought we would be left with at least one or two bottles! It was a fun time spent with my new colleagues.
